overview
melanin (Melanin) is a biological protective pigment, which widely exists in animals, plants and microorganisms. it is a general term for a class of phenolic or indole biological macromolecular pigments with complex and diverse structures. According to the structure of melanin, it can be divided into three types, namely true melanin (eumelanin), brown melanin (phaeomelanin) and heteromelanin (allpmelanin). The color of true melanin is dark brown or black, which is produced by the transformation of tyrosine through the Dopa pathway. This melanin is mainly distributed in animal epidermis and hair cells, as well as visceral membranes or tissues. It can be called animal melanin.

Preparation
1) Take the peel of fresh Yin Xiangguo, wash it with clear water and dry it for later use; Take 100 grams of Yin Xiang peel, use 2 liters of ammonia water with a volume concentration of 10% to extract at room temperature for 12 hours, filter with double-layer gauze, separate Yin Xiang peel and other impurities to obtain extract; 2) Use 2mol/L hydrochloric acid to adjust the pH value of the extract to 2.5 to precipitate melanin, the melanin precipitate is separated by suction filtration, and then the melanin precipitate is placed in a vacuum environment of 50 ℃ and dried for 2 hours to obtain a crude melanin extract; 3) 4 grams of crude melanin extract is put into 100 ml of 7mol/L hydrochloric acid, hydrolyzed in a water bath at 100 ℃ for 6 hours, and then separated the melanin precipitate by suction filtration to obtain melanin; 4) Dissolve the obtained melanin with 100 ml of ammonia with a volume concentration of 10%, add 40 ml of petroleum ether, and extract it at normal temperature and pressure, and repeat it 10 times; add 40 ml of chloroform and extract it at normal temperature and pressure. Repeat this for 8 times; 5) Adjust the PH value of the extract obtained in step 4) to 2.5 with 1 mo1/L hydrochloric acid, and filter to separate the melanin precipitate, wash it with distilled water to a pH value of 7, and then dry it in a vacuum environment at 40°C for 2 hours to obtain the finished melanin.
